Since Tribe has been having difficulties I realized it would suck to lose good places like this and the people in them. So I got proactive and made a "backup" site called Tribe Refugees, which includes some discussion groups to parallel favorite tribes.
I've created an All Things Design Group as part of the larger Tribe Refugees network, to discuss everything from typography to web design to illustration.
You can use the site as a place to:
- chat during the donut times
- "backup" your Tribe contacts
- retreat to should Tribe just finally kick it
You need to first signup for the site (Tribe Refugees), then join the Group (All Things Design -- which is just a matter of clicking the Join Now link).
All Things Design: triberefugees.ning.com/group/...sdesign
Tribe Refugees: triberefugees.ning.com/
If you'd like more information about the Tribe Refugees site:
How to Join: triberefugees.ning.com/forum/topic/show
About the Site: triberefugees.ning.com/forum/topic/show
Similarities between Ning and Tribe: triberefugees.ning.com/forum/topic/show
Please note: the site/group was intended to support this tribe, NOT compete or detract from it. I just thought you guys might like to know about it so you can bookmark it, or signup to squat your space, or go ahead and participate. :)

Re: a backup resource for design tribes, like Typography
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 5:18 PMNOTE: Tribe Refugees is created on Ning.com system. It is NOT compatible with Safari or Opera. Firefox works well. :)
