For the past year or so I’ve been on the search for a particular font type and having been unable to locate anything fitting the bill I’ve decided to take on the task of creating my own font. So far I’ve done a little research online, but have found no definitive explanation of the task. Anyone in here know of a good tutorial or have any tips to pass on? I know I need to create outlines for each of the characters using Illustrator, that is no problem, but detailed information of the process after that point would be very helpful!

Re: Creating your own fonts?
Wed, January 10, 2007 - 1:42 PMThe definitive font creation program is called Fontographer. It's been around for years. I'm not sure what version it's up to now but I have a copy of it. It's fairly easy to use, especially if you know how to change outlines in Illustrator.
If you can't find a copy let me know! (I have a version for PC) -

Wed, January 10, 2007 - 5:03 PMThanks for the info... I read about it online but when I looked for a copy of it I got directed to the Adobe site and wasn't able to locate it for purchase or otherwise. I just might hit you up for a copy... lemmie see what I can find first.
